Tragic Flaw

Image
Heal me from the fresh wounds of my mind, Erase the foul words engraved in my heart, Fill that vast void. Conditions, our humane driving force... What are they? Shall I sell my soul? Shall I suffer for Jest and at the brink of death see your works? Shall I make sacrifices? Ones so rare to my eyes. How much must I loose to find you? How much must I lack to crave you? How much must I hate to love you? Acceptance…validation, my tragic flaw. My desperate search for acceptance, Like a knight who sort for honour. What doth I fight for? Riches? Bragging rights? Love? Honour? None but peace. Peace from, with you and of you. ×××××××××××××××× Initially, my thoughts while putting these words on paper were about my failing relationship with God, my feelings of detachment and worries birthed from the expectations weighing me down.  Like most of my poems, “Tragic Flaw” is open to other interpretations made by the readers.
